Terms & Conditions

These terms govern every booking you make with Collection Only Delivery. By paying for a booking you accept them, so please read them before you pay.

Last updated 13 June 2026.

1. Who we are

Collection Only Delivery ("we", "us", "our") is a specialist transport service for heavy, awkward and fragile single items, operating across mainland UK from our hub in Oxfordshire (SN7). You can reach us at hello@collectiononlydelivery.co.uk. Where these terms refer to "you", they mean the person placing and paying for the booking.

2. What we do and do not carry

We carry large, heavy, awkward and fragile single items such as treadmills and gym equipment, sofas and furniture, marble and stone, mirrors and glass, antiques, large appliances, and eBay or Facebook Marketplace collection-only buys. Our service covers mainland UK postcode areas on our scheduled route network.

We do not carry: hazardous or flammable goods, illegal items, perishable food, livestock or live animals, cash, jewellery or loose precious items, and anything we reasonably judge to be unsafe to handle or beyond the capacity of the booked service. If an item is materially different on arrival from what was booked (for example far heavier, larger, or requiring more people than declared), we may decline to move it and the cancellation terms in section 9 apply.

3. How a booking is formed

You size your item, choose a collection and delivery postcode and date, see a fixed all-in price, and pay by card through Stripe. A booking is only confirmed once your payment has cleared and you have received a confirmation email with a booking reference. Until then we have not agreed to carry your item.

4. Accurate information is your responsibility

The price and the schedule depend on the information you give us: the item's size and weight, its value for insurance, the two postcodes, and any access notes (stairs, parking, narrow doorways, lifts). You must give us accurate details. If the actual item or access differs significantly from what you booked, we may need to re-quote, reschedule, or cancel, and any additional cost is payable before we proceed.

5. Pricing

Every price is fixed and all-in for the job as booked. It is calculated live from the item's size and weight, the road distance between collection and delivery, and the insurance value you declare (£5 per £1,000 of cover). There is a minimum charge of £129. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay — there are no hidden surcharges for the booking as described. Prices are inclusive of any applicable VAT.

6. Collection and delivery

We run scheduled routes, with each postcode area served on a fixed weekday. You choose your collection date on your area's route day and your delivery date on the destination's route day; where your destination is on our route home we may offer same-day delivery. The day before each visit we will contact you with a three-hour target time slot. We do not commit to an exact arrival time in advance.

Someone aged 18 or over must be present at both the collection and the delivery address to grant access, confirm the item, and sign for it. If no one is available, or the address cannot be safely accessed, we may have to abort the visit and a re-attempt may be chargeable.

7. Access, stairs and reassembly

Please tell us about stairs, lifts, parking restrictions and tight access when you book. We carry heavy items up and down stairs as standard where it is safe to do so. We are not responsible for damage to property where the only safe route was the one we used and we flagged the risk, or where access details given to us were inaccurate. We will reassemble dismantled furniture where this is part of the booked job and safe to do.

8. Insurance and liability

Every booking includes goods-in-transit cover up to the value you declare at the time of booking. To be fully covered you must declare an accurate, honest replacement value. If you under-declare, any claim is limited to the declared figure. Our liability for loss of or damage to an item is limited to its declared value, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost earnings or the value of a sale falling through). Claims must be raised with us in writing within 7 days of delivery, with photographs where relevant. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, normal wear, inherent fragility we were not told about, or items we advised against moving but you asked us to move anyway.

9. Changes and cancellations

You can change or cancel a booking by emailing us. Your rights to a refund, and any charges that apply when you cancel close to your route day, are set out in full in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.

10. Payment

Payment is taken in full at the time of booking, by card, through Stripe. We never see or store your card details. If a payment is later reversed or charged back without good cause, we reserve the right to recover the amount and any costs incurred.

11. Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control — for example severe weather, road closures, vehicle breakdown, accidents, or third-party action. Where this happens we will contact you to rearrange at no extra cost, or offer a refund where rearranging is not possible.

12. Complaints and governing law

If something goes wrong, email hello@collectiononlydelivery.co.uk and we will work to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
